Swapnam Kondu Thulabaram is a 2003 Malayalam movie. It stars Suresh GOpi and Kunchacko Boban in the lead roles. Actress Shrutika, granddaughter of yesteryear comedian actor THengai Srinivasan, plays the female lead role. The supporting characters include Janardhanan and Srividya who play the role of parents of the heroes. Suresh Gopi and Kunchacko Boban are brothers who have a very strong relationship. Despite the 10 year age difference, they are shown to be very close and affectionate to each other.
They have a tightly woven relationship which they believe can never be threatened by anyone. Suresh Gopi, being the older one, is looked up by everyone while Kunchacko Boban is still treated like a child. This angers Kunchacko as he is not taken seriously. Kunchacko Boban feels Suresh Gopi always outshines him in most aspects of their lives and believes his parents think of Suresh Gopi as the better son. This creates jealousy and anger in Kunchacko Boban wanting to be the better son. Suresh Gopi is a professor in a college. One of his students is Shrutika.
Shrutika is in love with Suresh Gopi but he ignores her advances. Heartbroken, she befriends Kunchacko Boban who falls in love with her though she only considers him as her friend. Eventually, Suresh Gopi and Shrutika's wedding is arranged.
This enrages Kunchacko Boban who wants to destroy his brother's life now. He becomes filled with rage and jealousy and devices a plan to kill his own brother. What happens next forms the crux of the story.
